1: What kind of training does CTP offer? A: CTP currently offers two training tracks: a 6 month Network and Technical Support Training which includes learning how to install, maintain, and troubleshoot computers and computer networks, and a 6-month Office Systems Training in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access and Power Point. 2: Who is eligible to be a student at CTP? A: Any person with a disability or qualifying medical condition is eligible to apply. Most of our students are clients of the Department of Rehabilitation. If you are not a client of the Department of Rehabilitation, you may apply for those services at http://www.rehab.cahwnet.gov. There are also other private and public vocational rehabilitation organizations that may sponsor your tuition. If you have any questions about whether you might be eligible, please contact the CTP Admissions and Student Services Coordinator 3: How does a student apply to CTP? A: Either the potential student or a vocational counselor can call the Admissions and Student Services Coordinator at CTP to make an appointment to start the application process. The application process involves each potential student taking aptitude tests and being interviewed. 4: What does the training cost? A: There is no tuition fee for clients of the Department of Rehabilitation, since CTP is funded through a Department of Rehabilitation Case Service Contract. For others, there is a tuition charge. Call CTP (510.849.2911) for the current tuition fee. 5: What disabilities do CTP students have? A:CTP trains and places persons with a broad range of disabilities: blindness and low vision, deafness and hearing impairments, chronic illnesses, cognitive impairments, mobility impairments, repetitive stress injuries, mental illness/psychiatric disabilities, and people with a history of substance abuse. 6: What types of jobs do CTP graduates get? A: Graduates of the NTST Training are well qualified for a wide variety of computer and network support jobs including: Helpdesk / Desktop Support Analyst, Field Service Engineer / Analyst, and Jr. Network Administrator. The Office Systems Training opens the door to a variety of administrative jobs, including the following: Administrative Assistants, Clerks, Bookkeeping Assistants and Customer Service Representatives. 7: What are the starting salaries for CTP graduates? A: Starting salaries for graduates range from $22,000 - $55,000. A: CTP students have been placed in a very broad variety

A: Business volunteers can work with CTP in a variety of capacities, including interviewing students as part of the application process, participating in Review Boards (student evaluations), serving as guest lecturers and mentors, providing curriculum advice and development, and by sponsoring internships.
