Board President – Jeanne Friedman
Development Director, Stone Age Institute
Jeanne has twenty years experience in professional fundraising, foundation and philanthropic services and has been a consultant in philanthropy since April, 2009. Last year she served as Interim Executive Director of Sempervirens Fund, a Peninsula-based land conservation organization. From 2005 to 2007, she spearheaded the New Home campaign of the Freight & Salvage Coffee House. Jeanne has worked for two bay area community foundations – the Peninsula Community Foundation and the San Francisco Foundation. She began her career in fundraising at the Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund (DREDF) and is a graduate of the City College of New York (BA) and Stanford University (MA).
Board Treasurer – Martha Zimet
Sr. Software Engineer, Nokia Mobile Phones, Inc.
Martha Zimet has over 25 years experience in the high tech industry in Silicon Valley. Her career started with Osborne Computer where she became head of technical support. She is currently a Sr. Software Engineer for Nokia. In the years between, Martha has been a software developer, development director, and project/program manager, working for such well known companies as Sun, Microsoft and Nokia. She currently holds three US patents in the area of Internet infrastructure.
Martha has a long history with CTP as a former Board member, a financial supporter and a technical evaluator for the programming classes.
Board Secretary – Sean Kenmore
Financial Planning Associate, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney
After receiving his B.A. in Communication Studies at California State University Long Beach, Sean Kenmore spent the first part of his career in accounting and finance with a real estate investment firm. In 2008 he obtained his securities license to expand his capabilities and became a Financial Advisor. He currently utilizes his Financial Planning Specialist and Portfolio Manager designations to provide tailored Wealth Management solutions for his clients. In all of his roles, Sean has used his communication skills to provide a high level of service and develop lasting relationships.
Board Member – Christopher Hudson
Manager/Partner, Hudson McDonald, LLC
Chris has been involved in real estate development, finance and construction for more than 20 years and is currently a principal of Hudson McDonald, a Berkeley-based real estate development firm. He has been involved in numerous affordable housing, economic revitalization, and market-rate mixed-use projects. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and served as the Deputy Director of the Congress for the New Urbanism. Chris has a degree in architecture from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master’s Degree in City and Regional Planning from Ohio State University. Chris has been an advisor for CTP in the development of their previous facility at the ArtTech Building and the current facility at the Ed Roberts Campus.
Board Member – Selma Mirante
Business Consultant
After 18 years of progressive responsibilities, Selma left her job as Vice President/COO with Nation’s Giant Hamburgers and returned to school, earning her MBA degree from Saint Mary’s College of California in 2010.
Selma was introduced to CTP by her family friend, Tim McInereny, a graduate and Board Member of CTP, and is proud to serve as a Board Member. She is focusing her energies on job and business development, applying her knowledge and skills in the areas of HR, training, recruitment, and financial analysis.
Board Member – Ligia Vilela
Senior Vice President CTO/CAO – Line of Business, Internet Services Development, Wells Fargo Bank
With over 25 years of technology experience, Ligia is the Senior Vice President for the Internet Services Group at Wells Fargo Bank where she is responsible for the development of online products and services for a broad range of businesses across the company. Before joining Wells Fargo in 1991, Ligia worked at Bank of America. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Information and Computing Systems from San Francisco State University.
Theresa Woo
Rehabilitation Supervisor, California Department of Rehabilitation
Theresa Woo spent the first part of her career working for HOPE Rehabilitation Services (San Jose) in several different capacities. After receiving her Masters Degree in 1996, she joined the California Department of Rehabilitation, first as a Rehabilitation Counselor (Berkeley) and currently as a Rehabilitation Supervisor (Oakland). In this capacity, Theresa supervises 9 Senior Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors and manages a mental health cooperative contract for 300 consumers. She currently serves on the Alameda County Workforce Investment Board and the Alameda County Youth Council.
